Good morning everyone, Yesterday I established our blog on Instant Spot. I'm the Webmaster for the National Federation of the Blind Writers' Division, an affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind. We are the oldest and largest organization of blind consumers in the United States. Our mission is to fully integrate the blind in to society on a basis of equallity with the sighted. One way we can do this is by creating a forum for budding and seasoned blind writers to post samples of their work for the enjoyment of the cyber audience to give them exposure and to allow them to promote themselves to further their careers as writers, journalists, publishers, etc. The blog URL is: http://nfb-writers-division.instantspot.com/blog. One matter deserves praise from us. I'm one of a number of NFB Webmasters that build and maintain affiliate Web sites. I was pleased to discover that those wishing to be spotted need not mess with a CAPTCHA to create their blog on Instant Spot. Currently these things are undetectable by screen reading technology, the hardware and software which allows a blind person to read the text displayed on a computer screen. Many a blind person has been denied access to important resources on the Internet due to the use of CAPTCHAS on Web sites. /Although some Web sites offer an audio rendering of the characters displayed in a CAPTCHA if you're both blind and deaf you're really up-the-creek when it comes to using these Web sites and other applications. My research also indicates that many sighted individuals are becoming fed up with them as well. We're all for spambot control, but methods need to be employed that protect Web sites and applications from the mischief these bots cause while not denying certain populations the use of Internet resources such as online blogs. For this reason I wish to thank you for avoiding the use of a CAPTCHA one must deal with during the sign-up process. I would strongly recommend that other affiliates of our organization wanting to create blogs for their members and others be spotted here. Our Web site is: http://www.nfb-writers-division.org. For everyone's benefit I would suggest adding documentation to assist new bloggers in creating and managing their spots. I'm a big fan of ColdFusion Weekly and thoroughly enjoyed the interview you guys did with Matt and Peter. They're great guys. Thanks again for a great home for our affiliate blogs. It's one anyone, including blind individuals can manage independently. All the best for the future of Instant Spot.

I am really glad to hear that kind of response. You can probably imagine what a feeding ground a network like this can be for spam bots, so we had to get a little bit creative when dealing with them, but we were dead set on avoiding the use of images for validation.
We greatly appreciate your feedback and your endorsement. Thanks and take care.
